
Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, have arrested 10 suspected criminals linked to various offences, including vandalism, theft, criminal conspiracy, trespass, and possession of stolen property.
The arrests were confirmed in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, who disclosed that the suspects were apprehended during coordinated operations across multiple locations in the state.
According to the statement, the arrests were made in Gwarmai (Ghari Local Government Area), Challawa Industrial Area, Unguwar Rimi, and Waratallawa in Kumbotso Local Government Area.
“The Kano State Command of the NSCDC has successfully arrested 10 suspected members of criminal gangs involved in acts such as vandalism, theft, conspiracy, trespass, and receiving stolen items,” the statement read.
The suspects were paraded at the Command’s headquarters by the State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, who reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.

Items recovered from the suspects include approximately 200 metres of aluminium conductor cables, copper wires, mobile phones, power banks, and various dangerous weapons such as knives, cutlasses, swords, and scissors.
Authorities revealed that investigations have been concluded and the suspects will be charged in court in due course.
The Commandant further urged residents of Kano State to continue supporting security agencies with credible information to help curb criminal activities and enhance public safety.
In a related development, the NSCDC Kwara State Command also arrested three individuals suspected of engaging in illegal mining and the unlawful transportation of solid minerals in Ilorin.
The suspects were apprehended during a late-night intelligence-driven operation carried out by the Mines and Steel Unit of the Command’s Special Patrol Team.
The NSCDC reiterated its zero-tolerance stance against criminal activities nationwide, emphasizing its resolve to enforce the law and safeguard national resources.
