Pep Guardiola has revealed that exhaustion is the main reason behind his decision to leave Manchester City, saying he shares the same feeling that led Jurgen Klopp to step down from Liverpool.
Speaking to reporters, the 55-year-old said he no longer has the energy required to manage a club at the highest level with games every three days. “I share the same feeling as when Jurgen Klopp left. I am running out of energy,” Guardiola explained.
He noted that the demands of the job, from Premier League clashes to Champions League nights, had taken a toll over his 10 years at the Etihad. “This job is every three days for many, many years. Selhurst Park, Anfield, Madrid, and Madrid… now I have to live my life,” he said.

Guardiola stressed that the club needs a fresh start and new energy moving forward. “Ten years is a lot of time. I think the club needs a new manager, new energy. With these incredible players we have right now, start to write another chapter,” he added.
The announcement marks the end of a decade-long era that saw Guardiola deliver 20 trophies, including six Premier League titles and a Champions League crown.
