A prominent Lagos businessman is reportedly under investigation following allegations that he secretly took his girlfriend’s used sanitary pad from her residence, triggering fears of possible ritual intentions.
According to sources, the businessman, believed to be a major player in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, had allegedly maintained a long-term relationship with the woman for several years.
He was also said to have sponsored her lavish lifestyle, including luxury trips and a house in Lagos.
The incident reportedly occurred earlier this year when the businessman visited the woman at her apartment in Ikoyi while she was menstruating.
After he left the residence, the woman allegedly discovered that a used sanitary pad she had disposed of in her bathroom bin had disappeared.

Suspicious, she reportedly contacted the businessman and requested that he return to the apartment. During a confrontation, the businessman allegedly denied taking the item.
However, the woman reportedly searched his bag and claimed she found the used sanitary pad hidden inside one of his pockets.
The discovery reportedly left the woman terrified, as she allegedly suspected the item could be connected to ritual practices.
Sources said the explanation given by the businessman failed to convince her.
The controversy later escalated into a property dispute, with the woman accusing the businessman of attempting to reclaim a house he had earlier gifted her.
She also alleged that ownership documents linked to the property were fraudulently altered.
According to reports, some associates of the businessman later gained access to her apartment and removed valuables, including luxury vehicles, cash and expensive jewelry.
Fearing for her safety, the woman reportedly fled abroad and hired lawyers to petition the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police Force in Ikoyi to investigate the matter.
Police authorities are said to have commenced discreet investigations into the allegations, while the businessman has reportedly remained out of the public eye amid the growing controversy.
