
The Gombe State Police Command has recovered 119 rounds of live ammunition concealed near a cemetery in Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area of the state.
The discovery was made along Kalshingi Road near a cemetery in Kwadon following intelligence received by security operatives.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, noting that officers uncovered the ammunition at about 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday during a coordinated operation.

According to him, the live 7.62mm ammunition was hidden inside a sack placed under a tree.
Abdullahi added that other items recovered from the scene included two empty ammunition sacks, two bottles containing moringa seeds, and a green bag.
He explained that security operatives immediately searched the surrounding bushes and nearby areas after the recovery, but no suspect was arrested in connection with the discovery.
The police spokesperson said the command has intensified surveillance and patrol activities in the area as investigations continue to track down those responsible for hiding the ammunition.
