The Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Lagos has banned Point of Sale, PoS, operations within its premises, citing security and ethical concerns.
The directive was announced on Thursday by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the FCID Annex Lagos, Simeon Akpanudom, during a strategic meeting with sectional heads at the command headquarters. The decision aligns with instructions from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
According to the FCID Annex spokesperson, ASP Aminat Mayegun, Akpanudom said PoS activities inside police premises do not meet security standards and could create opportunities for corruption and compromise official procedures.
He urged officers to uphold professionalism and discipline, stressing that all duties must follow due process. Akpanudom also directed that intelligence reports be thoroughly scrutinised and verified by sectional heads before submission.
