
The Kano State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on those responsible for the violent attack at the popular Farm Centre GSM Market, confirming the arrest of two additional suspects linked to the April 2026 incident.
According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna, the newly arrested suspects Sadiq Ayuba (18) and Abdulganiyu Abba (38) were apprehended following intelligence-led operations.
Their arrests bring the total number of suspects in custody to seven.
Police investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly mobilised and financially induced by a fleeing mastermind identified as Mallam Hassan, who remains at large.
One of the suspects reportedly confessed to participating in the attack under this arrangement.
The incident caused significant disruption, including the destruction of businesses and damage to properties within the market.
Among the affected assets were a Toyota ambulance linked to a political entourage and a commercial tricycle belonging to a local resident.

All seven suspects have now been arraigned before Magistrate Court Number 2 in Nomansland, Kano.
They are facing multiple charges, including criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, inciting public disturbance, possession of dangerous weapons, and acts of mischief.
The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Ibrahim Bakori, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to restoring peace and ensuring justice.
He emphasized that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the principal suspect and any other individuals connected to the attack.
Bakori also commended residents for their cooperation and urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support security agencies.
The police reiterated their resolve to maintain law and order across the state and ensure that perpetrators of violence are brought to justice.
