
Residents of the Hotoro area in Kano State were thrown into panic after a woman allegedly set her husband, co-wife, and two children ablaze during a domestic dispute.
The suspect, identified as Maryam Muhammad, was said to have carried out the attack late Monday night at the Mai Allo area of Hotoro quarters.
Eyewitnesses said the incident caused chaos in the neighborhood as residents rushed to rescue the victims from the burning house.
The victims, identified as Firdausi Musa and her two children, Khadija Ya’u, 7, and Ismail Ya’u, 3, reportedly sustained severe burns in the attack.
Their husband and father, Malam Saminu, was also injured while trying to save them from the fire.
The injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Dala, and the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano.

A family source revealed that Firdausi had spent less than two weeks in the matrimonial home before the incident occurred. The children involved were reportedly from her previous marriage and were living with the family.
According to relatives, the family received a distress call in the early hours of Tuesday informing them that the victims had been attacked and set ablaze.
The suspect has since been arrested and is currently being held at the Mariri Police Division pending further
