
The Oyo State Police Command has detained two officers after a motorcyclist died following an accident in Iseyin on Saturday, the command said.
The officers, an assistant superintendent of police and an inspector attached to the Border Patrol Unit, are in custody pending the outcome of an investigation. Police spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade confirmed the detention in a statement on Saturday.
Ayanlade said the motorcyclist, Umar Yahúza, was involved in a lone fatal accident in the early hours of Saturday in Iseyin. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The body was released to the Seriki of the Hausa community and has been buried in line with Islamic rites, Ayanlade said.
“The two officers involved, an assistant superintendent of police and an inspector attached to the Border Patrol Unit, have been detained pending the outcome of the investigation,” the statement read.
