
Residents of Dapchi were thrown into panic after suspected Boko Haram insurgents launched a late-night attack on the town.
The attackers reportedly stormed the community around 11 p.m. on April 27, 2026, unleashing hours of destruction without resistance.
A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that the insurgents set ablaze key public infrastructure, including a police station, three telecommunication masts, a hospital ambulance, and a primary healthcare facility.
The assailants also carted away motorcycles and seized mobile phones from locals.
According to the source, the attackers operated freely in the town for nearly three hours, leaving widespread damage in their wake.

“The town currently has no telecommunication services. I had to move to a neighbouring community just to get network,” the resident said.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from security agencies, including the Nigerian military and police.
This latest assault marks the second attack on Dapchi in less than a month, following a similar incident on April 4, 2026, raising fresh concerns over the security situation in the area.
