The Kwara State Police Command has recorded a significant breakthrough in its ongoing fight against violent crime, following the arrest of suspected armed robbers and cult members operating in parts of Ilorin.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the arrests were made after a reported robbery incident on April 19, 2026, at Kabba Kajola Junction in the Amoyo area.
Acting on intelligence, police operatives apprehended two suspects identified as Abdulazeez Isiaq, popularly known as “Pumpin,” and Rilwan Mohammed. Authorities say efforts are still underway to capture another suspect who remains at large.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly attacked their victims, forced them into an uncompleted building used as a hideout, and threatened their lives before dispossessing them of valuables, including mobile phones and other personal belongings.

Further findings linked the suspects to the Eiye Confraternity, with connections to multiple cases of armed robbery and cult-related violence within Ilorin and surrounding areas.
The police described the arrest of Isiaq as a major disruption to criminal operations in the state.
The Command assured residents of its commitment to maintaining safety and security, adding that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
