
Security operatives in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State have arrested two suspected kidnappers linked to a fatal abduction and successfully recovered ₦8 million ransom paid by the victim’s family.
The Chairman of Qua’an Pan LGA, Christopher Audu Manship, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday, reaffirming his administration’s zero tolerance for criminal activities within the area.
According to the statement, the suspects identified as Waltu Watter and Sale Mamma from Zomo in Mikang LGA were allegedly involved in the abduction operation that led to the death of Alhaji Saidu Mamma and the kidnapping of his daughter.
After collecting a ransom of ₦8 million, joint security operatives tracked and apprehended the suspects, recovering the full amount.
In a related development, security forces also rescued an abducted victim, Mrs. Gambo Bello, who had been kidnapped in Nasarawa State and taken to the Pandam Game Reserve in Qua’an Pan.
Acting on intelligence, operatives launched a search operation in the area, leading to her rescue after a brief exchange of gunfire with the kidnappers, who fled the scene.

Recounting her ordeal, Mrs. Bello revealed she was held captive for over a week before security personnel intervened and evacuated her safely.
Manship commended the security agencies for their professionalism and bravery, noting that the operation underscores their commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
He further vowed that Qua’an Pan would not serve as a safe haven for criminals, assuring residents of intensified efforts to secure borders and prevent infiltration.
The council boss also ordered that the recovered ransom be returned to the family of the late victim, describing the gesture as part of efforts to deliver justice and support affected families.
He added that this marks the third successful operation involving the arrest of kidnappers and recovery of ransom in the area, attributing the achievements to coordinated security efforts and strong government backing.
