A 27-year-old man, Kabiru Nuhu, has been arrested for the killing of his biological father in Kazaure Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The suspect was taken into custody after he allegedly attacked his father by setting him on fire. He was later found with burn injuries and arrested by the police.
Speaking during interrogation, Nuhu said his actions were driven by a long-standing family dispute. He claimed that the crisis began after his father reportedly abandoned him following repeated issues linked to his lifestyle and behavior, which created deep resentment between them.

“I have been having issues with my father for a long time. He abandoned me, and I was not happy,” he said.
Family members confirmed that both father and son had not been on good terms for over two years.
According to them, the situation worsened after several failed attempts by the father to rehabilitate his son, who was said to be struggling with substance abuse.
This led to the father distancing himself, a move the suspect interpreted as rejection and neglect.
The prolonged misunderstanding, coupled with feelings of isolation and anger, eventually escalated into the tragic incident.
The development has left residents of the community in shock, while authorities say investigations are ongoing.
