The accident involved a DAF trailer transporting animals, goods, and passengers from Wudil Market in Kano, heading toward Asaba, Delta State.
Preliminary findings revealed that the driver lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed while approaching the interchange flyover. A total of 59 male adults were involved in the crash. Of these, 33 sustained injuries, 24 were rescued without harm, while two persons died.
The injured victims were taken to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for treatment, while authorities worked to clear the scene and restore normal traffic flow.

In a separate incident on Saturday, another crash involving two vehicles occurred near a T-junction. One of the vehicles, also a DAF trailer loaded with goods, animals, and passengers, was reportedly en route from Wudil Market to Lagos State.
The FRSC stated that the driver again lost control due to over-speeding, resulting in a collision. Thirty male adults were involved, with 20 sustaining injuries, eight escaping unhurt, and two losing their lives.
The injured victims were evacuated to Wudil General Hospital, while the obstruction caused by the crash was cleared.
Reacting to the incidents, the Sector Commander, Idris Mohammed Lawal, expressed concern over the continued violation of road safety regulations.
He condemned the practice of transporting passengers in trailers meant for goods and animals, describing it as dangerous and illegal.
Lawal also warned against over-speeding and overloading, urging drivers and transport operators to strictly comply with traffic rules to prevent avoidable tragedies
