
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a suspected kidnapper and rescued a victim following an abduction incident in Isua Akoko, Akoko South-East Local Government Area of the state.
The victim whose identity was not disclosed was reportedly abducted by three armed men while on a farm but managed to escape after struggling with the attackers and injuring one of them on the head.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the incident was reported on April 10, 2026, at the Isua Division by one Ahmadu, who alerted authorities after one of two cattle rearers failed to return home.
He said the report prompted a coordinated intelligence-led operation that led to the rescue of the victim.

“The victim narrated that he was abducted at night by three suspected kidnappers. During the incident, while trying to resist his captors, he inflicted a head injury on one of the suspects,” the statement read.
Acting on credible intelligence, operatives later stormed Obasanjo Motor Park in Isua at about 06:09hrs, where a suspect with a visible head injury was arrested.
The police said the suspect confessed to being part of the kidnapping gang and was identified by the victim based on the injury sustained during the attack.
The victim has since been taken to a medical facility for treatment, while the suspect has been transferred to the anti-kidnapping unit for further investigation and prosecution.
