The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced plans to deport 79 Nigerians identified as some of the country’s most dangerous criminal immigrants.
The list, published on the DHS website, includes individuals convicted of serious offenses such as fraud, drug trafficking, assault, manslaughter, and robbery.
According to the department, the deportations are part of an intensified crackdown on criminal and illegal immigrants led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
A DHS statement emphasized that the agency, under Secretary Noem’s leadership, is acting to fulfill President Donald Trump’s promise to prioritize the removal of “the worst-of-the-worst.”

The crackdown has sparked debate and protests, particularly following a series of high-profile enforcement actions, including house-to-house raids by federal immigration officers.
DHS maintained that these measures are necessary to protect public safety and enforce U.S. immigration laws.
The deportations mark one of the most significant actions targeting Nigerians under the Trump administration’s immigration policy, highlighting the administration’s focus on removing high-risk offenders from the country.
