Award-winning singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has shared the inspiration behind her song Big Daddy, describing it as a feel-good track drawn from a personal experience.
Speaking in a recent interview, the Nigerian star explained that the song was inspired by a certain type of personality. According to her, Big Daddy reflects the behaviour of people who are focused on projecting a cool image without doing the inner work needed for personal growth.
“Big Daddy was inspired by an experience of a type of person,” Tems said. “It’s about someone who wants to look cool but doesn’t work on themselves internally. That often translates into a desire for control without offering anything meaningful.”
