
A 400-level student of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Niger State, has reportedly been killed by a stray bullet during a land dispute in his hometown.
The deceased, identified as Isma’il Ishaq Magaji of the Department of Public Administration, was reportedly hit by the bullet during the incident in Wawa, Borgu Local Government Area of the state.
The university confirmed his death in a statement issued by its Deputy Registrar, Information, Alhaji Baba Akote, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Sulaiman, expressed condolences to Magaji’s family, friends, classmates and associates, describing the incident as a painful loss to the university community.

He urged the communities involved in the dispute to embrace dialogue and restraint, stressing the need for peaceful coexistence to prevent further loss of lives.
