At least 35 people have reportedly been killed in three separate violent incidents across Niger’s Dosso and Tillabéri regions between September 17 and 23, 2026.
The reported casualties included civilians and security personnel, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama.
In Karakara, Dosso Region, 12 civilians were reportedly killed on September 17 after armed groups attacked the area. Another attack in Yeldou on September 22 reportedly left eight people dead and several others injured.

Meanwhile, on September 23, a patrol of Niger’s Gendarmerie Special Forces was reportedly attacked in Abala, Tillabéri Region. 15 gendarmes were reportedly killed, including Captain Hassoumi and Adjudant Djingarey.
The reported figures remain provisional as authorities continue to assess the situation.
