Nollywood actor Yul Edochie says infidelity affects women in relationships differently than it does men, arguing that women often lose interest once they begin to cheat.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Edochie said women who cheat have already disconnected emotionally and psychologically from their partners. He claimed that while men can separate sex from emotion, women who stray have typically moved on in their minds.
“If you meet a woman who loves you, she will be willing to do anything for you,” he said. “But the problem is that a lot of men are with women who don’t love them and are wasting their time. So they can’t get commitment from them because those women are into someone else.”
Edochie stressed that men should not forgive cheating, calling it a sign of weakness. He maintained that women are faithful and supportive when they are genuinely in love, but often cheat with the person they truly desire if they are in the wrong relationship.

He pointed to recent public controversies involving married women and alleged affairs as examples of what happens when a woman’s emotional attachment shifts elsewhere. According to him, such women may even mock their husbands while defending their lovers.
“Once a woman begins to cheat, she has checked out. So there is nothing like forgiveness when it comes to cheating. If you do, you are a weak man,” he said.
Edochie advised men to choose partners who genuinely love them and to set clear boundaries, adding that women do not respect weakness in relationships.
