
Croatia secured a place in the FIFA World Cup Round of 32 with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ghana in their final Group L match on Saturday.
Petar Sučić gave Croatia the lead in the 31st minute with a powerful long-range strike after the Europeans controlled much of the first half.
Ghana responded strongly after the break and equalized in the 73rd minute through Derrick Luckassen. The goal was confirmed following a lengthy VAR review.

With the match heading toward a draw, Croatia found the winner in the 83rd minute when veteran midfielder Luka Modrić delivered a pinpoint corner that Nikola Vlašić headed into the net.
The victory saw Croatia finish second in Group L and qualify for the knockout stage. Despite the defeat, Ghana also progressed to the Round of 32 as one of the best third-placed teams after an impressive group-stage campaign.
