Nigerian media personality and content creator KieKie has joined other celebrities in speaking against the rising insecurity in the country during the 2026 Children’s Day celebration.
In an emotional reaction shared online, KieKie lamented the painful reality that while many families were celebrating their children with gifts and outings, some parents were living in fear and sadness over the abduction of their children.
According to her, “While others celebrate, some parents are crying,” as she expressed concern over reports of children allegedly being held by kidnappers.
The actress said the situation deeply troubled her as a mother, adding that she could not imagine the pain families of kidnapped children were currently passing through.

“It’s Children’s Day but the children are not here, they’re inside the kidnappers’ den. It’s messing with my brain because I’m looking at my child… God forbid she’s taken away from me,” she said emotionally.
KieKie’s statement has since sparked reactions on social media, with many Nigerians agreeing that the country cannot truly celebrate Children’s Day while insecurity continues to threaten the safety of children and families.
Her comments add to the growing voices of celebrities and concerned citizens calling on the government and security agencies to take urgent action against kidnapping and insecurity across the country.
