Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have thwarted a coordinated terrorist attack, rescued kidnapped victims, and arrested several suspects in separate operations across the region.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for OPHK, the terrorists attempted to advance towards a town on motorcycles from multiple directions. Troops detected the movement early and responded swiftly with heavy firepower, including mortar engagements. The attackers were forced to withdraw in disarray, leaving behind ammunition and combat accessories.
In related operations, troops working with the Civilian Joint Task Force arrested two suspected Boko Haram collaborators in Gubio town. The suspects, who are cattle rearers, are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation.
Acting on credible intelligence from a surrendered terrorist associate, soldiers also arrested a suspected logistics supplier identified as Umar Ahmadu. He reportedly confessed to supplying items to terrorists on multiple occasions and remains under interrogation.

The military said a 17-year-old family member of a terrorist surrendered to troops along the Gwoza–Limankara axis after escaping from an enclave in the Mandara Mountains. Preliminary findings show that sustained military pressure and lack of basic necessities within the enclave contributed to his decision to surrender.
Further demonstrating operational effectiveness, troops intercepted and rescued two male victims kidnapped from Mafa town. The victims, who escaped with poor vision, have been handed over for medical evaluation and further action.
Operation HADIN KAI said the latest successes reflect ongoing efforts to degrade terrorist capabilities and restore security in the North East.
