
Troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have killed a suspected terrorist during a counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operation in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation was carried out as part of ongoing military efforts to tackle terrorist and bandit activities across the North-West.
According to security sources cited by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the troops, deployed around the Galadi area of Sokoto State, spotted suspected terrorists riding motorcycles as they attempted to cross a road in Shinkafi.
The troops engaged the group, killing one of the suspects, while the others reportedly fled the area.

The deceased was said to have been wearing a woodland camouflage vest beneath a traditional kaftan when he was found.
A search of his mobile phone allegedly uncovered photographs showing him dressed in camouflage and holding a PKM machine gun, further raising suspicions about his involvement in terrorist activities.
The troops also recovered four mobile phones and ₦30,350 from the suspect.
The military operation forms part of sustained efforts by security agencies to disrupt terrorist and bandit networks and restore peace across communities in the North-West.
