
Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have killed two suspected terrorists during a patrol in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State, as military operations intensify against criminal groups in the North-West. The incident occurred around 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, along the Bagega–Anka road.
According to security sources who spoke to Zagazola Makama, soldiers from 1 Brigade Counter-Terrorism Unit, CT 6, alongside a Quick Reaction Force, acted on intelligence about terrorist movement in the area. The troops intercepted the suspects, leading to a fierce gun battle.

Two of the suspects were neutralized during the exchange, and one motorcycle was recovered at the scene. Security sources confirmed that troops have since secured the area to prevent further criminal activity and are conducting follow-up operations to track down fleeing members of the group.
The military said operations remain ongoing to maintain pressure on terrorist elements operating in Zamfara and across the region, with troops determined to restore stability and protect residents along major routes.
