Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have dealt a major blow to ISWAP terrorists following a series of precision airstrikes targeting their logistics networks in the Lake Chad region.
The operation, carried out around Kaniram Island in Northern Borno State, was based on credible intelligence that revealed the attack of over 30 terrorist boats used for coordinating movements and operations across the waterways.
According to a statement by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the air component of OPHK conducted carefully planned and coordinated strikes after confirming the targets in line with established Rules of Engagement.
The strikes successfully destroyed multiple boats, crippling the terrorists’ logistics hub and significantly weakening their operational mobility.

Over 30 insurgents were reportedly neutralised during the offensive.
“Surviving elements were seen fleeing in disarray, indicating a collapse in their coordination and command structure,” the statement noted.
In a related development, additional precision strikes were executed at Sowolwolo in the Sambisa Forest axis, where three terrorist gun trucks were destroyed and several fighters eliminated.
Battle Damage Assessment (BDA), supported by post-strike intelligence, confirmed heavy losses on the part of the insurgents, including reports of mass burials by ISWAP fighters in the Mallam Fatori axis.
The Military High Command commended the troops for their decisive action and urged them to maintain momentum in ongoing operations aimed at dominating the battlefield and dismantling terrorist networks in the region.
