The Taraba State Police Command has arrested a suspected fraudster for allegedly impersonating the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the state governor and defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.
The Command’s spokesperson, ASP Victor Mshelizah, disclosed in a statement on Tuesday that the arrest followed a complaint filed on May 12, 2026, by the governor’s ADC.
The complaint revealed that certain individuals had been fraudulently using his name and office to deceive politicians and residents across the state.
Acting on credible intelligence, security operatives swiftly launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of the suspect, identified as Seth Samuel Sule, a resident of Magami Quarters in Jalingo Local Government Area.
Preliminary investigations showed that the suspect allegedly used a GSM number to impersonate the governor’s ADC between late April and early May 2026. During interrogation, Sule reportedly confessed to defrauding a victim of ₦1.32 million under the false promise of securing an All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives ticket.
