
Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, have maintained their 26th position in the latest men’s world rankings released by FIFA.
The updated rankings, published on Wednesday, reflect the team’s performances during the March international window.
The Super Eagles, led by head coach Éric Chelle, recorded a 2-1 victory over Iran but were later held to a 2-2 draw by Jordan in their second friendly match.

Despite the mixed results, Nigeria remain the third-best ranked team in Africa. They are placed behind Morocco national football team, who occupy 8th position globally, and Senegal national football team, ranked 14th in the world.
Algeria national football team and Egypt national football team complete the top five teams on the African continent in the current standings.
At the global level, France national football team have moved to the top of the rankings, displacing Spain national football team, who previously held the number one position.
The next edition of the FIFA men’s world rankings is expected to be released on June 10, 2026.
