
The Yobe State Police Command has rescued four teenage girls who were abducted by suspected kidnappers during an attack on Didim Village in Fika Local Government Area.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Saturday, June 28, at about 2:23 p.m., when armed men stormed the community and abducted four girls aged between 15 and 17.
A statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, said officers from the Kukar Gadu Police Outstation, working alongside local vigilantes, swiftly launched a rescue operation after receiving a distress call. Additional reinforcements from the Fika Divisional Police Headquarters later joined the mission.

The coordinated operation led to the successful rescue of all four victims without any injuries.
Following their rescue, the girls were taken to the Kukar Gadu Primary Health Care Centre for medical evaluation and necessary support before they were reunited with their families.
The police said efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects.
Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Usman Kanfani Jibrin, has directed security operatives to intensify intelligence-led operations to ensure those responsible are apprehended and brought to justice.
The command also urged members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information on suspicious individuals, movements, and vehicles to support ongoing security efforts.
