
The Kebbi State Police Command has presented cheques worth N11.4 million to 18 beneficiaries and next-of-kin of deceased police officers under its Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident insurance schemes.
The cheques were presented on Wednesday, September 17, 2026, by the Commissioner of Police in Kebbi State, Umar Hadejia, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Bashir Usman.

The police said the payment was part of efforts to support the families of officers who lost their lives in service.
Hadejia said the contributions of the deceased officers to the nation remained appreciated and would not be forgotten.
He added that the insurance benefits would help provide financial support to the affected families.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, the Force Management Team and the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police for the gesture.
