The Delta State Police Command has intensified efforts to arrest a suspect linked to the death of a PalmPay agent, Justin Azubike Owefu, popularly known as “Biggie,” in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson Bright Edafe confirmed that the suspect remains at large, adding that operatives are actively searching for him as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding Owefu’s death.
According to reports from the deceased’s relatives and associates, the incident was allegedly connected to a dispute over a phone purchased through a PalmPay financing arrangement.
Owefu had reportedly facilitated the purchase of a phone worth about ₦185,000 by a customer, Moses Okitikpi, who allegedly paid ₦30,000 upfront and agreed to weekly repayments of ₦11,000. Following alleged defaults, the device was reportedly remotely restricted.
