The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed four officers attached to the Ikeja area of Lagos State following disciplinary proceedings over allegations of extortion, corrupt practices, unlawful exercise of authority and discreditable conduct.
The affected officers are Inspector Omosebi Emmanuel, Inspector Arishekola Oluwatobi, Sergeant Olawunmi Michael and Sergeant Ajibade Adegbenga.
The disciplinary action was contained in a police wireless message dated September 3, 2026, issued by the Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, Ikeja.
According to the communication, the four officers were subjected to orderly room proceedings over the allegations, with the offences listed under the relevant provisions of the Police Act and Regulations.
The proceedings were later reviewed by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos, after which their dismissal from the Nigeria Police Force was approved.

The police subsequently directed the Area Commander of Area ‘P’ to arrest the affected officers, recover their warrant cards and remove them from police barracks if they were quartered there.
The Police Pay Office was also instructed to immediately stop their salaries and other emoluments, delete their names from the payroll and update the relevant records.
Other police formations and departments were directed to comply with the order and acknowledge receipt of the directive.
The disciplinary action follows the police proceedings into the allegations against the four officers and the subsequent approval of their dismissal.
