The Kaduna State Police Command has dismantled suspected bandit camps during a clearance operation carried out in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state.
The operation, conducted on Saturday, August 29, 2026, involved police operatives working alongside personnel of the Kaduna State Vigilance Service.
According to the Kaduna State Police spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, the security team engaged suspected bandits and destroyed their hideouts during the operation.
Hassan said intelligence provided by local residents enabled the security personnel to locate suspected bandit camps around Durum and Danguzuri, including areas close to the Kaduna-Kano boundary.
He disclosed that two structures believed to have been used by the criminals to hold abducted victims were also destroyed.

The structures were reportedly located at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in Danguzuri.
The police spokesperson added that joint security patrols were continuing across the area to prevent the criminals from regrouping or returning to the locations.
“Joint security patrols are still ongoing in the area and normalcy has been restored. The general area remains calm,” Hassan said.
The Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, Rabiu Muhammad, commended residents for providing information that assisted the operation.
He also praised the security personnel involved in the clearance exercise, assuring residents that the command would sustain its operations against banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities across the state.
The police urged residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could help prevent criminal activities and protect communities.
