The Yobe State Police Command has arrested three suspects over alleged farm equipment theft in Bursari Local Government Area of the state, recovering two water pump generators, 10 solar panels and other items suspected to have been stolen.
The arrests followed a report of theft at the Duhuwu Nima farm area after a 40-year-old man, Musa Mohammed, was apprehended near Tarabutu Village on October 21, 2026, over the alleged crime.
Police detectives who responded to the report took the suspect into custody for investigation. Preliminary investigations allegedly linked him to two other suspects, Mohammed Baki of Gashua and Haruna Wakil Sano, popularly known as Kogi.
The police said the suspects allegedly stole farm equipment from farms in the area and sold the items to another individual, identified as Adamu Abubakar, from Bade Local Government Area.
Following the information obtained during interrogation, detectives reportedly traced and arrested the alleged receiver. A search of his residence led to the recovery of two water pump generators, discharge and suction hoses, two gas cylinders and 10 solar panels.
