
The Osun State Amotekun Corps has handed over four of its operatives to the state Police Command for investigation into the killing of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as “Emir,” in Ile-Ife.
The operatives, who were attached to NURTW chieftain Nurudeen Alowonle, were voluntarily handed over by the Corps Commander, Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, to support the police investigation.

Amotekun clarified that the officers were not arrested by the police, contrary to reports circulating on social media. The corps said the decision was made to promote transparency and allow investigators to establish the circumstances surrounding the September 13 killing at Mayfair Motor Park.
The corps also reaffirmed its commitment to accountability, discipline and cooperation with other security agencies.
