A Nigerian national, Tochukwu Afame, has been arrested in India alongside an accomplice, Sunny Sharma, for allegedly trafficking cocaine hidden inside blood pressure (BP) machines.
The arrest comes just days after two other Nigerians were apprehended in India over similar drug-related offences, raising fresh concerns about an expanding international drug trafficking network.
According to reports from Indian media outlet Dainik Jagran, the suspects were apprehended on Saturday during a police operation targeting a cross-border drug syndicate with links to Nigeria.
Authorities revealed that the group specialized in concealing cocaine inside medical equipment to evade routine security checks.

Investigations showed that the illicit substances were hidden within BP machine boxes and transported through courier services from Delhi to Raipur and possibly other cities without detection.
Police described the method as a calculated attempt to bypass scrutiny, noting that the packaging allowed the shipments to move through standard delivery channels without raising suspicion.
The case reportedly originated on March 19, when a suspect was arrested near a private hospital in Raipur with 4.55 grams of cocaine. His arrest led to further investigations, exposing a broader distribution network operating across multiple regions.
