The National Compliance Joint Task Force of Licensed Clearing Agents (NCJTFLCA) has distanced itself from two former officials linked to a recent controversy involving the Seme Border.
The association said Adamu Sambo Muhammad, formerly Chairman of its Seme Border Chapter, and Dr. Basil Nwolisa, a former President, no longer hold the positions attributed to them and are not authorised to speak or act on behalf of the organisation.
In a statement issued by the Acting National President, Lawal Adaba, the NCJTFLCA also rejected a publication circulated on September 24, 2026, concerning an alleged dispute involving the Seme Border Customs Comptroller and a complaint over an ₦8 million clearance charge.

The association clarified that it neither authorised nor sponsored the petition or publication and stressed that the material should not be regarded as its official position.
The NCJTFLCA urged government agencies, security organisations, clearing and forwarding stakeholders, and members of the media to verify communications purportedly issued in its name before acting on them.
It further advised the public to rely only on statements released by the association’s duly constituted leadership on matters concerning its members and the wider industry.
