The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested a suspected kingpin of a motorcycle syndicate operating in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
The suspect, identified as Salihu Ahmadu, also known as “Officer” or “Boss,” was arrested on September 8, 2026, in the Gandu area near the Federal University of Lafia.
The NSCDC said Ahmadu had earlier been identified as the alleged leader of the syndicate during the parade of suspects arrested in connection with the case on August 14. However, he had remained at large until his recent arrest.
The command said its personnel intensified intelligence-led operations to track down the suspect, which eventually resulted in his arrest.
The Public Relations and Strategic Communications Officer of the command, Jerry Victor, said the State Commandant, Brah Samson Umoru, commended the officers involved for their commitment and determination.

The NSCDC said Ahmadu would be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction to face prosecution alongside other members of the alleged syndicate who had already been arrested.
The command also assured residents that it would continue to use intelligence gathering, cooperation with communities and proactive operations to identify and dismantle criminal networks across Nasarawa State.
It urged members of the public to provide credible and timely information that could help security agencies prevent and combat criminal activities in the state.
