
Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) have apprehended a 25-year-old man, identified as Babatunde Ayinla, for alleged involvement in armed robbery in Itele area of Ogun State.
The suspect was arrested on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at about 1:00 p.m., following a distress call reporting an ongoing robbery operation along Lafenwa Road.
Confirming the development, the Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, in a statement issued through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi, said operatives swiftly responded to the emergency.
According to the statement, the team, led by the Area Commander of Itele Area Command, ACC Abayomi Abass, arrived at the scene around Orji Block Bus Stop, where they encountered members of the robbery syndicate attempting to flee on a stolen motorcycle.

Ayinla was successfully apprehended during the operation, while other suspects reportedly escaped.
Items recovered from the suspect include a locally fabricated pistol, two rounds of live ammunition, and a protective charm believed to be used for criminal activities.
The suspect, along with the recovered exhibits, has been handed over to the Itele Police Station for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and urged members of the public to promptly report suspicious activities.
