A warehouse gateman has been killed after suspected robbers reportedly raided a warehouse in Zangon Noma, near FastTrack Hotel in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, September 26, 2026, when the suspected robbers allegedly gained access to the warehouse and attacked the security guard before making away with an unspecified number of motorcycles stored on the premises.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was reportedly on duty when the attackers struck. His remains were later recovered by the police and deposited at a mortuary.
The Taraba State Police Command confirmed the incident, saying efforts were underway to identify and arrest those responsible and recover the stolen motorcycles.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Victor Mshelizah, said the command was aware of the attack and was working to track down the perpetrators.
The incident has raised concerns among residents and business operators in the area, particularly over the safety of commercial facilities in parts of Jalingo.
Police have appealed to members of the public with useful information that could assist investigators in identifying and locating those behind the attack.
