Four people have been killed and several others injured following a violent clash that erupted at Power Line Bus Stop in the Ikola area of Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The incident, which occurred on Thursday, August 27, reportedly began after a disagreement between an alleged cult leader and a commercial motorcycle rider. The confrontation reportedly escalated after the rider allegedly stabbed the cultist leader to death.
The development subsequently triggered unrest in the community, with several makeshift structures reportedly set ablaze during the violence.
Confirming the incident, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the agency received a distress call about the fire at about 1:52 p.m.
According to him, emergency responders arrived at the scene approximately 25 minutes later and found that several structures had been destroyed by fire.

He disclosed that four adult males lost their lives, while several others sustained injuries of varying degrees.
Emergency medical assistance was provided at the scene by the Agbado-Oke Odo Ambulance Service, the Nigerian Red Cross Society and other responders. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service also contained the fire and carried out damping-down operations to prevent further spread.
Following the unrest, a joint security operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps and other relevant agencies was deployed to restore calm and protect residents.
LASEMA urged residents to remain calm and avoid retaliatory actions or the circulation of unverified information that could worsen tensions.
The Lagos State Government condemned the violence and said an investigation had commenced to determine the immediate and underlying causes of the incident. Authorities also stated that anyone found responsible would face the law.
