At least four passengers sustained injuries on Sunday morning after a commercial bus reportedly lost control due to suspected brake failure and plunged into a ditch along Oba Ogunusi Road in the Ojodu area of Lagos State.
The accident involved a 14-seater yellow bus heading toward the Victoria Island axis and occurred opposite Babs Fafunwa School. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), preliminary findings indicate that the bus suffered brake failure while in motion, causing the driver to lose control before the vehicle veered off the road.
Emergency responders confirmed that about four occupants suffered varying degrees of injuries and were promptly evacuated to a medical facility at Toll Gate for treatment.

LASTMA officials were quickly deployed to the scene to coordinate rescue operations and manage traffic around the area. A tow truck was also arranged to remove the damaged vehicle from the ditch.
The agency further confirmed that recovery efforts were concluded without major disruption to vehicular movement in the area.
Authorities have urged motorists to ensure regular maintenance of their vehicles, especially brake systems, to prevent similar avoidable road crashes.
