
Nigeria’s Falconets have arrived in Lilongwe ahead of their decisive second-leg clash against Malawi in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The Nigerian side, led by coach Moses Aduku, traveled to Malawi with confidence after securing a 2-0 victory over the Young Scorchers in the first leg played at the Remo Stars Stadium last weekend.
The return fixture is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the Bingu National Stadium, where the Falconets will aim to protect their advantage and book a place at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team has maintained an impressive away record during the qualification campaign. The Falconets defeated Rwanda 1-0 away from home in the opening round before edging Senegal 2-1 in another tough away encounter during the second round.
Malawi, however, remains hopeful of staging a comeback on home soil after strengthening their squad with foreign-based players for the crucial encounter.
The winner on aggregate between Nigeria and Malawi will secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup set to be hosted in Poland in September.
