Operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command have arrested six suspected members of the Alora Confraternity over an alleged attempted murder following a violent clash at a hotel in Ikere-Ekiti.
The suspects were apprehended by the Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) after officers responded to a disturbance that reportedly erupted during a meeting at the hotel in the early hours of Saturday, August 1.
Police said one of the suspected cult members, identified as Sucrose, sustained serious injuries during the confrontation and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, disclosed that the RRS, working with surveillance operatives from the Ilupeju Police Division, arrested six suspects identified as Owolabi Oluwapelumi (28), David Adeleke (28), Oluwatoba Alo (30), Olamilekan Junior (27), Segun Bidemi (29), and Emmanuel Oladele (27).
According to the police, preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects allegedly admitted to belonging to the Alora Secret Cult Confraternity.
Items recovered during the operation include a Toyota Camry, two face caps bearing the Alora logo, three branded plastic cups, a blood-stained shirt, a pair of scissors, a yellow wristband, and a key holder with the confraternity’s insignia.

The Command said efforts are ongoing to track down other suspects who fled the scene. It also revealed that Inspiration Hotel is under investigation for allegedly allowing its premises to be used for suspected cult activities.
The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, CP Falade Adegoroye Michael, directed investigators to intensify the probe, reiterating the Command’s zero-tolerance policy against cultism and other violent crimes.
Residents were also urged to provide useful information that could help security agencies arrest the fleeing suspects and combat criminal activities across the state.
