Former Senegal international, Mbaye Diagne, has expressed strong confidence that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen could become the only player capable of breaking his long-standing record for the highest number of goals scored by a foreign player in a single Turkish Super Lig season.
Diagne set the record during the 2018/2019 campaign after scoring 30 league goals for Kasımpaşa and Galatasaray. His tally included 20 goals in 17 appearances for Kasımpaşa before adding 10 more after a mid-season transfer to Galatasaray.
Speaking on the record, Diagne noted that while he remains proud of the achievement, he would be comfortable seeing only Osimhen surpass it, suggesting that breaking it would be extremely difficult for any other player.

He was quoted as saying he considers Osimhen a special talent capable of achieving the feat, while describing the record as one that may remain untouched unless the Nigerian forward eventually breaks it.
Osimhen, currently playing for Galatasaray, has already scored 15 league goals this season. His teammate, Paul Onuachu, is also enjoying a prolific campaign with 22 league goals.
The comments have further intensified attention on Osimhen’s form in Turkey as he continues to chase another milestone in his career.
