Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé has been named Ligue 1 Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
The 28-year-old won the award after leading PSG to the brink of a 14th French title and a place in the Champions League final. He becomes only the fifth player to win the award back-to-back, following Zlatan Ibrahimović in 2014.
Dembélé took over the prize from Kylian Mbappé, who won it five years in a row before moving to Real Madrid.

“It’s an individual trophy but all the individual trophies I’ve won are thanks to this team,” Dembélé said.
Despite an injury-hit season with just 9 starts and 960 minutes in Ligue 1, he scored 10 goals and provided 6 assists. Last season he had 20 starts, 1,736 minutes, 21 goals and 8 assists.
PSG secured the league title with a 1-0 win over Brest, moving six points clear of Lens with two games left. They can be officially crowned champions if they avoid defeat against Lens on Wednesday.
The club is also preparing for the Champions League final against Arsenal after beating Bayern Munich 6-5 on aggregate in the semi-final.
Other awards:
- Best Young Player: Désiré Doué, PSG teammate of Dembélé
- Best Coach: Pierre Sage, for leading Lens as PSG’s closest challenger
