A family in Kaduna State is appealing for urgent intervention after bandits reportedly demanded ₦500 million for the release of Jamila, a pregnant woman abducted in Millennium City.
The abductors have reportedly contacted her husband with the ransom demand, while Jamila remains in captivity, fearing for her life and that of her unborn child.
The development was brought to public attention by local security reporter Bakatsine, who called on security agencies, government authorities and members of the public to help secure her release.
According to Bakatsine, Jamila reportedly sent a distressing message expressing fears for her safety and pleading for urgent assistance.
The reporter renewed the appeal following the reported release of Ahmed Abubakar Zakka, his wife and their infant daughter, who had also been held by abductors.

Bakatsine stressed that Jamila’s condition requires urgent attention, noting that her pregnancy makes her continued detention particularly concerning due to her potential need for medical care and other essential support.
The circumstances surrounding her abduction, including the exact date she was taken, remain unclear. It is also unknown whether the family has formally reported the incident to security agencies or whether a rescue operation is underway.
The reported ₦500 million ransom demand has heightened concerns over the family’s plight as they await her safe return.
Kaduna State continues to grapple with kidnapping and other security challenges, with victims and their families often facing prolonged uncertainty and significant financial pressure.
Authorities are being urged to take urgent action to secure Jamila’s release and protect her life and that of her unborn child.
