The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) branch in Ogbomoso, has declared an indefinite strike over the failure to implement an agreement with the Federal Government and pay outstanding staff entitlements.
The strike began at midnight on Thursday, October 29, 2026, following the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum issued to the university management.
In a statement dated October 29, the branch chairperson, Prof. Olujimi Dada, and secretary, Dr Soji Arinola, said the decision was reached during an emergency congress held on Wednesday, October 28.

The union described the industrial action as total, comprehensive and indefinite, indicating that its members would continue the strike until the outstanding issues are addressed.
ASUU said the unresolved issues include the non-implementation of the 2025 agreement between the Federal Government and the union, as well as the payment of outstanding entitlements owed to staff.
The strike follows the failure of the university management to resolve the issues raised by the union within the 14-day ultimatum.
