A pregnant woman abducted by suspected bandits in Kaduna State has reportedly lost her pregnancy after spending three weeks in captivity.
The victim, identified as Jamila, was kidnapped on October 6 alongside Abubakar Zakka, his wife and their six-month-old daughter when armed men invaded their residence in Alrahus Estate, Millennium City, in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
A source familiar with negotiations for her release disclosed that the kidnappers contacted those working to secure her freedom on Tuesday and allowed her to speak with them.
During the conversation, Jamila reportedly revealed in tears that she had lost her pregnancy while being held by the abductors.

The source expressed sadness over the development but said efforts were continuing to secure her release.
Zakka, his wife and their infant daughter were freed a few days after the incident. Their release came after a video circulated on social media showing one of the victims being threatened with a gun while the baby cried.
However, several other residents abducted in separate attacks across Millennium City remain in captivity.
Among them are the wife and son of Sikiru Shuaibu, who were kidnapped on October 1 when suspected bandits invaded their home in the Babban Saura PW area.
Shuaibu was killed during the attack, while his wife, son and other victims were taken away. Three weeks later, they were still being held by their captors.
A family member of the deceased said the family was relying on prayers while hoping for the safe return of the abducted relatives. The family member described the experience as deeply traumatic.
In another incident, suspected bandits reportedly attacked Nurus-Suraj Estate in Millennium City on October 27, abducting six people.
The victims were said to include a couple, their two children and two teenagers from a neighbouring residence.
Meanwhile, suspected bandits attempting to invade Kyauta community in Millennium City on the same night were reportedly repelled by local vigilantes and residents who mobilised to defend the area.
The chairman of the community’s Joint Task Force, Nuradeen Abubakar Nababan Yawo, confirmed the attempted invasion, stating that no resident was abducted.
He explained that the incident was the second recent attempt by the attackers to enter the community. He also praised security agencies for responding promptly and assisting residents in driving the suspected bandits away.
