Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have destroyed Lakurawa terrorist camps in Waria Forest, Tangaza LGA, Sokoto State, killing several fighters and recovering weapons and five motorcycles.
The operation, conducted on October 15, involved troops advancing through terrorist enclaves around Alela, Bilange and Kandam villages before engaging the armed group in a firefight.

According to the military, the terrorists were overwhelmed by superior firepower and forced to flee deeper into the forest. Troops pursued them, neutralised some fighters and destroyed the camps and associated structures.
The military said clearance operations would continue to deny the group safe havens and restore security to surrounding communities. It also urged residents to provide credible information on suspicious movements and activities.
