According to the group, Vivian was widely regarded as an exceptional student whose academic achievements and determination set her apart among her peers. The forum noted that her death has left colleagues, classmates, and members of the nursing community in shock.
The organisation highlighted her challenging upbringing, stating that she lost both parents at a young age and had taken on responsibilities aimed at securing a better future for her two younger brothers while pursuing her education.
The forum further revealed that Vivian had initially studied Computer Science before changing her course of study to Nursing. Her academic excellence quickly became evident after her admission into the nursing college, where she reportedly earned multiple awards for outstanding performance during her matriculation.
Describing her as a promising young woman with a bright future ahead, the group lamented that her dreams and aspirations had been cut short. It stressed that her death represents not only a loss to her family but also to the nursing profession and society at large.
The forum urged authorities to carry out a transparent and professional investigation while calling on civil society organisations and human rights groups to monitor developments in the case to ensure accountability.
It also appealed to the Anambra State Government to honour the late student’s memory by establishing a scholarship or academic excellence award in her name. Additionally, the group requested educational support for her younger brothers and assistance with burial arrangements.
The ENF maintained that justice must be served and that every effort should be made to identify and prosecute those connected to the incident. The group added that protecting talented young Nigerians and supporting their aspirations remains essential for the country’s future development.
